How do I handle another breakup? I mean no disrespect but I would appreciate responses from those 30 and olde

I think my companion may be cheating. He mentioned to me earlier in the week that he had a female friend and they’ve been friends for 4 months and he claim that’s all they are. He just told me this information last week. He also stated that his female friend has a boyfriend and they basically talk about me and her boyfriend. I admit lately things between me and and him have haven’t been so good. It’s been this way for more than some time now. I really care for him and can even say I love him. We talked earlier and he told me we would talk later on after he ate dinner. I waited and waited and even contacted him, but he never returned my call. The thing is he has never done this before. Even if he is mad with me he would return my call. I am hurt and thinking the worst. Of course I’m in my late 30’s he’s late 40’s we are adults but I don’t want to jump the gun. But lately he has been very cold and distant from me. I don’t know what to think. Am I over reacting again.

Well, i think u have reason to be a little uneasy. U say things have been a little rough lately, then he mentions this female friend and then he is distant and cold and now he is not returning a call when he has every other time.
I am not saying he is with her or anything, but maybe he is feeling the same things as u r. Maybe he is questioning the future of your relationship.
The fact that he is distant and cold is a very good sign that he is not feeling too good about the way things are.
I think u need to talk to him openly. Ask him how he is feeling and if he would like to work on it or has he pretty much given up on the two of u. I have been in the same situation. Its really hard to let loose of something when u care about it.
But, u cant make someone feel something they dont and u cant make someone stay somewhere they dont want to be.
So, a heart to heart is in order.
Just be open and honest with each other. The relationship isnt completely over, and can possibly be salvaged, but the two of you definately have some issues to resolve.
I say try to resolve them if he is willing to try. If not, then hun, u gotta let him go. Chalk it up as an experience and learn from it.
I wish u luck.
